Even though I have been attracted to photography, the only frame of reference I had was social media models where everything seemed perfect. As time went on I discovered that I wanted to tell my clients stories and document the beautiful aspects of them that not everyone gets to see. It was then that I decided it was time to use my photography skills for a great cause.
My love affair with photography began as a teenager, and I quickly discovered that what intrigued me most about it was the opportunity to tell people's stories. Meeting new people and having the chance to record an aspect of them with my camera seemed almost like magic, and still does. As my skills and knowledge have grown, I am able to incorporate the emotional and mental feelings of empowerment, confidence and strength in my photo sessions and portraits.
While my background as a social worker and former wedding photographer is still at the heart of how I shoot today, I should probably also mention that I've been selected to display my photos in art galleries and have been published in several online therapeutic photography articles. (Link below)
While I acknowledge that all of my experience has shaped me into the person I am today, my biggest hope is that each one of my pictures speak for themselves.
